Colored dreadlocks

I'm constantly looking for new things to do with my hair. So I've decided to give myself some dreads.

My friends call me the little white girl with big red dreads.

I have had them for only a week. No wax used.

I used just aloe vera & a crochet hook to tighten . Once i had my dreads for 2 weeks i just died them like i would natural hair

I'm interested in starting dreads and have a ton of questions, but I liked that you said you didn't use wax, so I wanted to know how you did them. Plus I have dyed red hair and I wanted to know what do I do to color my roots red when they grow back out.
